This means I can’t take any private 1:1 bookings in Chamonix until I am a full Guide, but I can work with larger groups alongside a fully qualified guide. Drop me a line for more details.
I do also return to the UK each year for an extended period, and it is in this period that I offer private guiding and instructing in the Peak District and North Wales.
Having grown up on the gritstone edges, then lived and worked as a qualified Mountaineering Instructor in North Wales for many years, I know the areas exceptionally well, and can offer tailored climbing guiding to suit whatever your project may be. Common examples are simple guiding up classic rock routes, basic instruction on how to trad climb / multi-pitch climb, self-rescue techniques for multi-pitch and sea cliff climbing.
I specialise in helping climbers push their trad climbing grade. I do this through a holistic look at your current climbing experience, physical and mental ability, and skill level. I’ve worked with over 50 clients on their trad climbing with huge success, so if you’re struggling to make progress past a certain grade drop me an email (no obligation to hire me!) and I’ll be happy to help, even if that is just some email tips!
My current 2017 availability is: Late September and early October.
I have a variable rate for UK instruction work. For £200 per day I will take up to 2 clients for single or multi-pitch guiding, or if there’s more than two of you (and you’re not beginners), for £20 extra per person I can take up to 6 clients for single pitch trad coaching.
With my current qualifications I can also work in other (non Alpine) areas of Europe, so if you are interested in some sun rock guiding, then please drop me a line to discuss my availability.
You can email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss options and availability, or give me a call on my mobile: 0033648463936
